The Human Resources Manager assists the Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Payroll with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department to include direct oversight of talent acquisition, employee on-boarding, and performance management. Responsibilities include consulting with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and implement relevant sourcing and retention strategies; conducting follow-up with managers to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts; managing candidate and applicant databases; implementing metrics and other relevant reporting; on-boarding new employees; and managing the performance management system to include job descriptions, performance appraisals, and developmental plans.
This position further supports and contributes to the development of human resources and payroll strategies and initiatives to include compliance, standard operating procedures, HRIS capabilities, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, policies and procedures; and other responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal candidates for the Human Resources Manager position hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; prior management experience; and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Human Resources. Prior recruitment, employee relations, and learning and development experience are preferred. The Human Resources Manager exercises utmost discretion and confidentiality on various matters; and escalates issues to management or other team members as required. Effective interpersonal, client service, professional presentation, communication (verbal and written), analytical, problem-solving, judgment, decision-making and organizational skills are required. This position requires high attentiveness to detail and follow-through with the successful ability to take initiative, adapt, prioritize, and multi-task when faced with competing demands within a fluid environment. The successful ability to work independently and within a team is also required. Prior experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) experience is preferred. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR or PHR certification is desirable.
